Our sandbox environment closely mimics the behaviour of the production environment, providing developers with a realistic simulation of how the API functions in a live scenario. Developers can experiment with various API functionalities, make test requests, and simulate different scenarios without any risk to real account data or transactions.
Access
Getting started with the sandbox environment for testing Alpha Connect is straightforward and is included as part of the onboarding process outlined in the getting started section.
The endpoints are detailed in the API Reference section.
Ask your representative at Alpha for your connection’s sandbox credentials. If you’re not sure who to speak to, you can contact the onboarding team here.
Test data
We will automatically generate a sample set of data so you can test all the endpoints available. The test data is provided for convenience and will not reflect reality. The purpose of the mock data is to ensure developers can see working requests and responses.
The sandbox is completely disconnected from production systems and there is no risk in experimenting with the various API functionalities, making test requests, and simulating different scenarios.
We can generate larger sets of data on demand if there is a need to assist with load or performance testing.
Integration process
We recommend implementing capabilities in an agile manner, prioritising them based on when they are needed. Consider launching reporting functionality first, while concurrently working on integrating FX and Payments. This approach will ensure you deliver early business value and enable data flow to your systems sooner.
